Underwear Uncovered
LOOKING in your underwear drawer you may or may not believe it, but British women spend in excess of £2 billion on lingerie each year - more than our French cousins despite their reputation for outdoing us in the sexiness department - so why does our secret habit feel slightly taboo?
To try to encourage the sheepish British consumer to embrace our lingerie habit,a brave collective of underwear designers have hooked up with photographer Ali Peck and fashion editor Phoebe Arnold to create a film entitled Underworld, first shown at London Fashion Week.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER will have a smile on his face today. The designer has just found out he will receive an Inspiration Award for his lifetime contribution to men's fashion and the fight against Aids.
Gaultier, who threw his inspiration net internationally wide for his autumn/winter 2010-11 collection, will pick up the prize at the AmfAR awards, hosted by Kylie Minogue in New York on June 3, reports WWD.

McQueen's Last Project
ONE OF Alexander McQueen's last design projects, a men's underwear collection, is set to launch in June, the brand revealed today. The designer had been working on a collection of boxer shorts and briefs bearing his signature skull prints as well as all over feather prints inspired by his final menswear offering.

SUPERMODEL Claudia Schiffer has revealed that she is expecting a girl. The Vogue cover girl, who already has a girl and a boy with husband Matthew Vaughn, announced the baby's gender on German television channel RTL earlier this week. Schiffer also spoke about cutting back on working when she became a mother, as well as the impact that motherhood had on her supermodel figure.

"Kevin was talking to Kate about auditioning for his eighth season, which starts in September," a fellow dinner guest told the Daily Mail. "He seemed to be making overtures towards her, suggesting she should try out."

A new baby seems to have given Gisele Bündchen the opportunity to show off her softer side, as the supermodel has launched a new natural skincare line called Sejaa. Based around whole plant extracts and 100% natural ingredients, the Sejaa range includes a day cream, night cream and a mud mask with packaging made from environmentally-friendly recycled materials. In an interview in the April issue of American Vogue Bündchen talks through her intentions for the line, which she decided to develop after a humbling experience working with girls from abusive backgrounds. "I wanted to teach girls to love themselves and take care of their bodies," she says, "I have made the simplest, purest cream - an everyday cream - but it comes with an affirmation." An avid yoga fan, Bündchen added an extra 'a' to the Portuguese word Seja (which means "to be"), to create an exhalation: "words have a vibration, and aaah! is an exhalation, what you feel when you let go."
